About Us
The Dodo Play is a solo project. There's no team, no office, no investors behind it โ just one developer who got tired of a very specific, very small annoyance: needing a GST calculator, then an EMI calculator, then a word counter, then a QR code generator, and having to visit five different websites โ each slower and more cluttered than the last โ to do five simple jobs.
That frustration is the entire reason this site exists. The goal was to build one place with fast, no-nonsense tools that just work: no forced sign-ups, no pop-ups you have to hunt for a close button on, no waiting for a page full of trackers to load before a simple calculator shows up. Everything here runs directly in your browser wherever possible, so it's quick and it doesn't need your data to function.
What you'll find here
The Dodo Play is a growing collection of free calculators, converters and generators across a few practical categories โ everyday finance (GST, EMI, SIP, compound interest), health (BMI, BMR/TDEE, age), text utilities (word and character counters, case conversion, diff checking), developer tools (Base64, URL encoding, UUIDs, JSON formatting) and quick generators (QR codes, barcodes, passwords, Lorem Ipsum). Alongside the tools, the blog covers the reasoning and formulas behind them in plain language, for anyone who wants to understand the 'why', not just get a number.
A do-it-yourself project, built in the open
This is very much a do-it-yourself, independently built website โ built, written and maintained by one person, one tool at a time, rather than produced by a large content team. That means it's still growing, and it means feedback genuinely shapes what gets built next. If a tool is missing, broken, or could be clearer, the fastest way to change that is to say so.
How the site is funded
The Dodo Play is currently free to use with no advertising. As the site grows, it may run relevant, clearly-labelled advertising (for example, through Google AdSense) to help cover hosting and development costs โ the goal is for ads, if and when they appear, to stay unobtrusive and never get in the way of using a tool. See the Privacy Policy for details on how cookies and any future advertising partners would handle data.
