How to use the BMI Calculator

  2. Enter your height and weight.
  3. View your calculated BMI value and which standard category it falls into (underweight, normal, overweight or obese).

The BMI formula

In metric units: BMI = weight (kg) / height (m)ยฒ.

In imperial units: BMI = 703 ร— weight (lb) / height (in)ยฒ.

The commonly used adult BMI categories are: below 18.5 = underweight, 18.5โ€“24.9 = normal weight, 25โ€“29.9 = overweight, and 30 and above = obese.
