How a QR code encodes data

A QR (Quick Response) code stores data in a two-dimensional grid of black and white squares, using error-correction encoding so the code can still be read correctly even if part of it is damaged, dirty, or partially obscured. The pattern of squares directly encodes the bytes of your text or URL according to the QR code standard, and any standard QR scanner (including most phone cameras) can decode it back into the original text instantly.
